BREAKING NEWS: ORHIONMWON LGA COUNCIL CHAIRMAN HON. DANIEL OSARIEMEN AND OTHERS DEFECTS TO APC

The Chairman of the Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Rt. Hon Daniel Osariemen, along with the leader of the Orhionmwon legislative arm, Rt. Hon. Anthony Ogbezuwa was welcomed into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by the ward chairman of Igbanke West and the chairman of Aibiokunla Ward 1, Hon. Martins Ozakpolor, respectively.

The defection exercise was carried out in their respective wards, Igbanke and Abudu by the ward chairmen of Igbanke West and Aibiokunla Ward 1. The decision to welcome these individuals from their various wards is to align with the party's constitutional provisions, which state that politics begins at the ward level.

The new council Chairman reaffirmed that the former chairman, Hon. Newman Ugiagbe, was constitutionally impeached by a two-thirds majority of the Orhionmwon legislative assembly for abuse of power, gross misconduct, insubordination, diversion of public funds and other charges, said his impeachment has come to stay.

He also expressed gratitude to the leadership of the APC in Igbanke and Orhionmwon local government for accepting him into the party.

Rt. Hon. Osariemen further promised to work diligently with the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to bring development to the Orhionmwon local government area.

The defection event was also witnessed by the Orhionmwon local government party chairman, comrade Julius Agbonze, and other party leaders.
