SEN. MONDAY OKPEBHOLO'S BOLD STEP TO INTEGRATE EDO CLEANERS INTO CIVIL SERVICE; A PROVE OF LEADERSHIP THAT HEALS. .......MODEN RESPONSE TEAM.

Prior to the emergence of Sen. Monday Okpebholo's administration in Edo State, cleaners who maintained the cleaning of offices and other public places within the state, were employed on part time basis and their engagement was managed by the services of consultants, who were cronies of the former governor from Lagos, who came into Edo, to play lord over many sectors, undermining the interest of indigens of the state. 

These consultants according to reports received allocations of about a hundred thousand naira (100,000) for each cleaner whose services they engaged, but for years paid paltry sums of twenty thousand (20,000) naira to each cleaner at the end of every month, with the highest paid being about thirty thousand (30,000) naira. This does not only reek of wickedness, but a reminder of the injustice dished out to Edo people for eight years under Godwin Obaseki. 

Akpakomiza - The rescuer, whose mission in Edo state is to heal, rebuild and restore the lost years of a cankerworm eight year rule of the previous administration, upon discovering the plight of cleaners in the state, found it completely unacceptable and unfair to these women who are exposed to various occupational hazards in the course of their duties only to end up with paltry sums, while those running consultancy services were lining their pockets fat, off their sweat. 

The governor, in his wisdom has recently approved the conversion of over three hundred cleaners, to be integrated into the state's work force and has also given approval for them to be paid the official minimum wage in the state. This move by His Excellency, would go a long way in securing the jobs of these cleaners and is a testament to the fact that Sen. Monday Okpebholo is committed towards boosting the morale of every worker in the state. 

The Head of Service, who gave further insight on this development made it known that the Sen. Monday Okpebholo administration also have plans to bring in more cleaners into the civil service, by making their appointments official, which would enable them have the necessary privileges entitled to workers in the state's work force. 

The beneficiaries of this gesture have in their numbers expressed their gratitude and appreciation towards the governor, whose actions have continued to demonstrate the level of the wellness he means for Edo state; the people and his commitment towards changing the narrative of governance in the state to be about service to the people in line with his campaign promise.
