A BILL FOR AN ACT TO ESTABLISH A FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTER, EHOR, EDO STATE SPONSORED BY HON. CHIEF DR. BILLY ADESUWA OSAWARU

In a significant step at bringing quality and affordable Healthcare closer to constituents in his federal constituency, the honorable member representing the good people of Orhionwmon Uhunmwode federal constituency at the Nigerian House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Billy Adesuwa Osawaru (PhD) has sponsored a BILL FOR AN ACT TO ESTABLISH A FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE TO BE SITUATED IN EHOR, the Administrative Headquarters of Uhunmwode Local Government Area of Edo State. 

This is in fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people. Having traveled the length and breadth of Uhunmwode and Orhionwmon during the campaigns, he took time to exhaustively note the needs of his people, especially in the areas of infrastructure and basic amenities. With the closest specialist hospital in Irrua in Edo Central Senatorial which is far from Uhunmwode, it is essential to situate a medical center within the federal constituency as the need for a functional medical center in Uhunmwode cannot be overemphasized. 

Healthcare and access to it is top priority for Hon. Osawaru; hence, this BILL is very dear to his heart, and he has promised to do all within his power to ensure the bill is passed into law. 

The Bill, which was successfully read for the first time on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, has set the stage for other stages in the lawmaking process, and eventual passage.
