The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Sen. Monday Okpebholo (Akpakomiza), has achieved an unparalleled record of performance within the period under review. His ongoing and completed projects in Edo State over the past 100 days have surpassed the projections and expectations of all.
Below is a chronology of his projects in no particular order:
1. Construction of the Ramat Park Flyover in Benin City - ongoing.
2. Construction of Upper Ekewan Road ongoing.
3. Construction of the Temboga -Ugbowo bypass is ongoing.
4. Construction of Upper Airport road - Evbordia Road is Ongoing.
5. Reconstruction of Upper Mission Extension Aduwawa Junction.
6. Reconstruction of Ewa Road is ongoing.
7. Construction of Uromi- Uwessan- Ebhora Road is ongoing.
8. Restored and increased Ambrose Alli University monthly subvention from 40m to N500m.
9. Disbandment of Market Union; an action that stimulated the reduction of foodstuffs prices across Edo State.
10. Procured Security vehicles for onward distribution to all security agencies in Edo.
11. Disbandment of Consultancy Services in the Edo Civil Services workforce.
12. Recruited young and clear headed Edo sons and daughters into various government appointments (Edo for Edo Policy)
13. Fostering peace, unity, and respect for our traditional institution
14. Putting an end to the once ravaging menace of cult killing in Benin City.
15. Ongoing construction of 100 schools across the state
16. Commenced the Construction of 192 Modern Primary Health Centers.
17. Ongoing reconstruction of Benin Auchi Road (Edo Unity Road)
18. Resolved the Benin Artefact dispute with Edo State Government under Governor Obaseki, in favour of the Benin Royal Palace and Benin kingdom.
19. Employment/Approval of about 500 workers into the Edo civil service commission
20. Approval/release of interest free loan to farmers, traders and businesses in Edo State
21. Procurement of modern equipment for the Edo State Waste Management Board
22. Rebuilt of the dilapidated Eweka Primary school
23. Complete fixing and asphalt of the bad spot at Eyaen/Aduwawa Bypass
24. Fixing of the bad spot by C. Agho filling station, opposite ewah road junction, mission road
25. Provision of Interest-free loan to 5,000 market women, farmers and artisans
26. Engagement of 38 first class graduates into the civil service
27. Securing 25 hectares of land and certificate of occupancy for the National Obstetrics Fistula center
28. Recruitment of over 500 teachers
29. Passage of a new cultism law, effectively curbing cult activities
30. Re-engagement of unjustly disengaged staff of Ambrose Alli University
31. Signing a $300 million and $500 million agreement with NNPC for a Condensate refinery and hydropower at Ikpoba and Ojirami Dam in Akoko-Edo respectively
32. The Completion of Oredo Primary Health Center
33. Procurement of modern ultrasound machines for the 18 local government areas of the state for a better service delivering in the health sector
34. Onboarding of 300 vulnerable persons into the Edo state health insurance scheme
35. Digitalisation of Health Insurance data and establishment of customer support policy
36. Reconstitution of the Edo State Security Corps and recovery of over 5,000 firearms
37. Procurement of 100 brand-new hiace buses to revive the moribund Edo Line
38. Food Security: Launching of Back to Farm initiative with over 70 billion naira budgeted for Agriculture (over 1000% increment from budget of former administration which budgeted a paltry 5 billion for Agriculture).
39. Ongoing Construction of Ohe-Uzea Road
Gov. Okpebholo's result-oriented approach is a mile away from the mere semantics and rhetoric of his predecessor. Okpebholo is on a decisive mission to recreate the Edo we have long desired. Let us support the light we now see.
