Their suspension was announced by the palace massager chiefs who visited the former Enigie palace to deliver the message of suspension by the Benin Traditional Council. 

It's was also revealed that all the duties and responsibilities of the former Enigie will now be strictly handled by the Odionmwere's of the various communities affected.
