Uhunmwode APC's unity and cohesion got a boost as Executives and Members of the 3rd Force Movement for SMO paid Commissioner Osifo a courtesy visit.

Benin City//// Tuesday 11th February, 2025.

The conference Hall of the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy was filled to capacity as Executives and members of the 3rd force movement for SMO, Uhunmwode Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. (Barr) Washington Osa Osifo PhD, the honorable commissioner presiding over the ministry. It was a very engaging visit as the delegation from the Movement under the leadership of Comrade Omoruyi Eseiwi Youngish received wise nuggets from the depth of Hon. Osifo's expansive experience.

In an address, the 3rd Force Movement cited Hon. Osifo's impacts and sacrifice towards the sustenance, growth, and development of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the protection of the rule of law, and his courageous advocacy for the preservation of our democratic institutions as some of the compelling reasons for the visit. The Movement extolled the leadership qualities of Hon. Osifo and expressed a desire to partner with him. The visit was also to congratulate him on his recent meritorious appointment as the Honorable Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy by His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, and to introduce the movement to him.

Introducing the movement, the Spokesman for the visit and Assistant Secretary of 3rd Force Uhunmwode, Mr. Osarenwinda  Evbaziegbere, described the movement as a pro-party support group, which is the new mobilization frontier for the party, aimed at contributing its quota towards strengthening the party at the grassroots. It owes its unalloyed allegiance to the party, its unity, and progress; hence the love for the party, especially at the local government level, is unimpeachable. He concluded by appealing to Hon. Osifo to use his good office, privileged position, and leadership to help unite the party in Uhunmwode.

Responding, Hon. Dr. Washington Osifo, in the beauty of his eloquence, commended the group's sense of organization, especially as the membership of the Movement cut across the 10 wards of the local government, and lauded the idea behind its formation. He affirmed that he is sufficiently aware of the existence of the group and the good work it has done thus far. He promised to liaise with the State Chairman of the Movement, Hon. Prince Musa Braimoh, towards ensuring that active members are recognized and rewarded.

While encouraging the movement to keep up the good work, he, however, offered useful, insightful, and wise nuggets that will make the group more functional and strategic in their engagement. He spoke briefly on what he has been doing since he assumed office as Hon. Commissioner, which includes, amongst others, the commencement of the mapping of the State on locations to site water and energy projects for the benefits of Edo people, and policy adjustments and regulations have also started for development to the state.

He called for a renewal of attitude as leaders and followers, emphasizing his concurrence that peace is indispensable for the growth of the party in Uhunmwode. He urged all to be apostles and advocates of peace and unity and charged members of the movement not to relent as there is always a reward for sacrifice and loyalty.

The courtesy visit is among the litany of activities lined up by the movement as it continues to engage critical stakeholders within the party at the local government level and beyond towards repositioning the Movement for its post-election mandates
