UHUNMWODE  COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, HON. IREDIA BENJAMIN OSA'S CELEBRATES WORKERS,  COMMISSIONS STAFF BUS IN A GRAND STYLE TO EASE ADMINISTRATIVE PERFORMANCE


EHOR, Edo State – April 30, 2025 

In a remarkable stride toward strengthening public service delivery and enhancing the welfare of local government workers, the Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Hon. Iredia Benjamin Osa's, officially commissioned a new staff bus to ease transportation challenges faced by council staff.

The event, took place at the council secretariat in Ehor, and was witnessed by a host of dignitaries, management staff, workers Union, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, security agencies and jubilant council workers. The initiative, according to the Chairman, is part of his administration’s commitment to improve staff welfare, productivity, and overall administrative efficiency.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Iredia stated: “This gesture is not just about providing a means of transportation. It is a reflection of our dedication to improving productivity of our staff,  which in turn will translate into better services for the good people of Uhunmwode. A motivated workforce is key to achieving our developmental goals.”

He emphasized that the provision of the staff bus is one of several interventions his administration has planned, to create a more efficient and responsive local government system.

The newly launched bus which is fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern safety features, will serve as a reliable transport solution for council staff commuting from distant parts of the local government area to the office in Ehor.

Representatives of the council staff expressed their gratitude to the Chairman for his visionary leadership and staff centered governance. “This is a long-awaited development and one of it's kind in the state. We are extremely grateful to the Chairman for his responsiveness to our needs. This bus will go a long way in reducing transportation costs and boosting morale,” said Comr. Osaghae Henry, Chairman NULGE, Uhunmwode Chapter.

The event concluded with a symbolic handing over of the bus keys and a test drive led by the Chairman himself, amid cheers from staff and dignitaries.

Hon. Iredia Benjamin Osa’s administration continues to set a high standard in grassroots governance, with initiatives that directly impact the lives of workers and all of  Uhunmwode people.
