BLOCK ALL LEAKAGES IN FORESTRY SECTOR : HON VALENTINE ASUEN TASKS FOREST GUARDS IN EDO

Forest Guards in Edo State have been charged to curtail all forms of illegal activities in the forty-nine (49) Forest Reserves across the state.

The Chairman of Edo State Forestry Commission, Hon (Dr) Valentine Asuen gave the charge today in his maiden meeting with forest guards in the state.

Hon Valentine Asuen who decried the alarming rate of illegalities in the forest sector urged them to support the present administration in its quest to put a halt to all forms of fraudulent practices in our forest reserves.

While commending the forest guards in Ovia South West, North East, Orhionmwon and Etsako West for apprehending vehicles laden with illegally acquired timber species, however, vowed that any forest guard found to be aiding and abetting illegalities will be severely dealt with in line with the Civil Service Rules and Regulation.

He assured that award will be given to deserving staff while all necessary logistics and inputs needed for effective service delivery will be addressed.

The Edo State Forestry Commission Boss who outlined the developmental efforts of the present administration in the provision of infrastructure for the state, urged the forest guards to block all the leakages in order to increase the revenue base of the commission.
