Free Medicare: Hon. Chief (Dr.) Billy Famous Adesuwa Osawaru Facilitates Medical Outreach To Sokponba Community, Orhionmwon LGA.

In a remarkable show of compassion and community service, Hon. Chief (Dr.) Billy Famous Adesuwa Osawaru has facilitated a comprehensive free medical outreach to the good people of Sokponba (Ukpato Ward) in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State. The initiative, aimed at improving access to healthcare for residents of the area, marks a significant step in addressing health challenges in rural communities.

The outreach featured free medical consultations, vital health screenings, and the distribution of essential drugs tailored to various ailments diagnosed during the program. For many residents, it was their first experience of such quality medical outreach within the community, bringing relief to families who often have to travel long distances to access healthcare services.

In addition to the treatment, health education lectures were delivered to enlighten the beneficiaries on critical issues such as personal hygiene, disease prevention, and proper drug usage. This holistic approach to health care not only provided immediate solutions but also empowered residents with the knowledge to maintain healthier lifestyles.

Grateful beneficiaries deeply appreciated Hon. Billy Osawaru for the unprecedented gesture, describing the initiative as a landmark intervention in the area. The medical outreach, which is the fifth in the role in less than two years, underscores the lawmaker’s commitment to the welfare of his constituents and his passion for bridging the healthcare gap in underserved communities. 

Beyond this free medical outreaches, the federal lawmaker has also displayed his commitment to the development of the healthcare sector in his federal Constituency through the sponsorship of a bill for the establishment of a federal medical center and the College for Complementary and alternative medicine (research and training) in Ehor and Ugbogun, respectively, both in Uhunmwode LGA. Hon. Osawaru has also facilitated the ongoing construction of a health centre in urhonigbe, Orhionmwon LGA. When established and completed, these interventions will help enhance the quality of health care service delivery, bring healthcare closer to his people, and ultimately, improve the health of his constituents.
