Benin City, Edo State - The Chairman of the Edo State Forestry Commission, Hon. Valentine Owamagbe Asuen, has reiterated the state government's commitment to eradicating illegal logging in the state.
Hon. Asuen made this declaration while inspecting a truck loaded with illegal billets apprehended by forest officers in Oluku Community, Ovia North-East Local Government Area, in the early hours of Saturday, May 3.
The Chairman emphasized that illegal logging would not be tolerated in Edo State, warning that perpetrators would face the full weight of the law.
This latest seizure is a testament to the Commission's unwavering commitment to protecting the state's forest resources and promoting sustainable forestry practices.
The Edo State Forestry Boss has urged the public to report any instances of illegal logging or environmental degradation to the Commission .
