Hon. Billy Osawaru Slams WAEC Over Irregularities in the 2025 WASSCE
NASS, Abuja.
The House Committee on Basic Education and Examination Bodies has called on the Coordinator of the Nigerian Office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to accept responsibility, issue a public apology, and resign from office.
Hon. Osawaru expressed strong disapproval of the examination body's conduct, citing the leakage of question papers, and the alarming scheduling of some exams late at night, among other serious irregularities. He described the entire process as "compromised and unacceptable."
The Committee has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to WAEC's management to submit a comprehensive report detailing the circumstances surrounding the late-night administration of the English Language examination.
