The Executive Governor of Edo State, his excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is making significant strides in education through the project SHINE initiative. A notable example is the ongoing screening exercise for Edo State Supporting Teachers To Achieve Results (EdoSTAR) fellows at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA). This effort aims to increase the number of teachers in junior and senior secondary schools across the state.
The EdoSTAR teachers expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo for integrating them into the state's civil service mainstream. This initiative demonstrates the governor's commitment to elevating the educational landscape in Edo State. By supporting teachers and enhancing the public service, the Executive governor's efforts are already yielding positive and remarkable impact on the state's education sector.
In line with the Executive Governor's unwavering commitment to bolstering education sector, Dr. Maureen Ekhoragbon JP, the Chairman of the State Secondary Education Board (SSEB), wasted no time getting to work after the Sallah holiday. She embarked on on-the-spot assessment of the ongoing screening exercise for Edo Supporting Teachers Achieve Result (Edo-STAR) Programme at John Odigie-Oyegun Public Academy (JOOPSA).
While making her remarks, the Board chairman thanked the Executive Governor for graciously chosen her for the job. Dr. Ekhoragbon promised to work in line with Executive Governor's unwavering dedication and vision in elevating the educational landscape in Edo State.
The exercise, scheduled to take place across the three Senatorial Districts in the State, aligns with the Executive Governor of the state, Senator Monday Okpebholo’s Administration commitment to having a productive, effective, efficient, and result-oriented Teaching Staff in all Public Primary and Secondary Schools in Edo State.
Dr. Maureen observed the screening process for SSEB staff teachers, engaging with staff and ensuring transparency, professionalism, and accountability. Her proactive approach underscores her dedication to strengthening the education system.
