UHUNMWODE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN PRESENTS 2025 BUDGET ESTIMATE, CHRISTENED "BUDGET OF RESTORATION: A NEW DAWN" TO THE  LEGISLATORS.

A Vision for Growth, Prosperity, and Renewed Hope

In a momentous event held in the legislative chambers of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, the  Chairman, Hon. Iredia Benjamin Osa's, today presented the much anticipated 2025 Appropriation Bill, aptly christened "BUDGET OF RESTORATION: A New Dawn".

Speaking with conviction and vision, Hon. Iredia addressed the Honourable legislators of Uhunmwode, laying out a transformative financial plan built on the pillars of sustainability, development, and hope for the people of the Local Government Area.

It is with great delight and gratitude that I stand before you today to present the proposed 2025 budget estimate, which reaffirms our administration’s roadmap to get Uhunmwode working again and for a secured and prosperous Uhunmwode,” the Chairman declared.

Budget Overview

The total sum of the 2025 proposed budget stands at:

₦5,914,709,229.19

(Five Billion, Nine Hundred and Fourteen Million, Seven Hundred and Nine Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty-Nine Naira, Nineteen Kobo)

The budget is strategically structured to cover:

Capital Projects

Recurrent Expenditures

Cash Flow and Liquidity Plans

Key Development Focus Areas:

Budget of Restoration: A New Dawn is designed to tackle key sectors that will directly impact the lives of Uhunmwode citizens and improve governance efficiency:

Agriculture – Support for local farmers, food security initiatives, and agribusiness empowerment

Security – Strengthening community policing and ensuring safety for all

Education – Investment in schools, teacher training, and infrastructure

Infrastructure Development – Roads, water supply, electricity, and public works

Revenue Generation – Innovative mechanisms to boost internally generated revenue (IGR)

Restoration of Hope – Social programs for women, youth, and vulnerable persons

A Budget for the People

Hon. Iredia, emphasized that the 2025 budget estimate was a direct response to the aspirations of the people of Uhunmwode and a testament to the administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive growth and accountability.

“This is more than just numbers. The Budget of Restoration: A New Dawn represents our collective dreams and the bold steps we are taking to make Uhunmwode a model of development and good governance,” in line with the Agenda of Mr Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, he said.

The Chairman concluded by calling for cooperation and swift passage of the budget by the legislative arm, expressing confidence in the shared vision for a better and brighter Uhunmwode.
