Hon. Iredia, modern approach towards revamping the administrative efficiency of Uhunmwode Local Government Council recorded tremendous results, As Leader of the Legislative Arm of Uhunmwode LGA and was sworn in as Acting Chairman, in January 2025.

Hon. Iredia, key Initiatives & Governance  redefined and established;

Security: Organized a stakeholders’ meeting with security agencies, community leaders, and councilors to improve safety in Uhunmwode.

Waste Management: Launched a clean-up drive at Kara Market along Benin-Auchi Road, addressing refuse and cattle waste that had accumulated over 18 years.

Environment & Urban Order: Coordinated demolition of illegal structures under the bypass on Benin-Agbor and Benin-Auchi Road to improve town planning.

Council Workers’ Welfare: Introduced a temperature controlled bus to transport council staff an innovation aimed at boosting morale and operational efficiency 

In a bold and compassionate move to improve the health and well-being of residents, Hon. Iredia, has launched a free medical outreach program across all 10 wards of the LGA. The outreach, which provides free consultations, medications, testing, and minor treatments, is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure that no community is left behind in accessing basic healthcare services.

In a proactive step towards financial independence and sustainable development, Hon. Iredia, has introduced a comprehensive strategy to improve Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) across the LGA. This bold initiative is aimed at reducing over-reliance on federal allocations by tapping into local economic potential, enhancing revenue collection systems, and supporting small-scale businesses, traders, and artisans through formalized structures and partnerships.

In a historic move to revolutionize energy access and administrative efficiency, successfully powered the Council Secretariat with a massive solar energy system. This project marks a significant milestone in sustainable development and is set to ensure 24/7 electricity supply at the Secretariat after years of unreliable power.
