UHUNMWODE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN PLAYS HOST TO ASSOCIATION OF COMMODITIES, MARKET WOMEN AND MEN, EHOR MARKET CHAPTER AT THE COUNCIL SECRETARIAT
In a renewed effort to strengthen grassroots collaboration and promote local economic growth, the Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, Hon. Iredia Benjamin Osa's, played host to the leadership and members of the Association of Commodities, Market Women and Men, Ehor Market Chapter, at the Council Secretariat in Ehor.
The visit, which held earlier today, served as an avenue for the market association to appreciate the Council Chairman for his continuous support towards market development and his commitment to creating a conducive environment for small and medium scale traders in the LGA.
During the interactive session, Hon. Iredia Benjamin Osa's expressed his appreciation to the association for their role in boosting the local economy, ensuring food security, and contributing to the general well being of residents in Uhunmwode. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving market infrastructure, enhancing security, and facilitating empowerment programmes that would benefit market women and traders across the Local Government.
He further assured the association that their concerns and suggestions would be taken into account in the Council’s policy decisions, especially in areas concerning sanitation, road access, market expansion, and taxation reforms.
The Chairlady of the Association, speaking on behalf of the delegation, commended the Council Chairman for his hands on leadership and recent achievements, including the installation of solar powered electricity at the Council Secretariat and the flag-off of educational and road infrastructure projects. She appealed for continuous government intervention in the market, particularly in the provision of waste disposal facilities and access to low-interest loans for petty traders.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties pledging continued partnership for the overall development of Uhunmwode Local Government Area.
