The Acting Provost of the Edo State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (ECANR), Iguoriakhi, Dr. Andrew Osaigbovo Omosefe, has congratulated the vibrant and result-driven Edo State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu, on his recognition as the Best Performing State Commissioner of Education by the Democracy Heroes Award 2025.

In a personally signed congratulatory message, Dr. Omosefe described the award as “a well-deserved honour and a true reflection of reality,” applauding Dr. Iyamu’s visionary leadership and transformative reforms in the state’s education sector.

He highlighted that Dr. Iyamu’s practical policies, strategic initiatives, and commitment to excellence have significantly reshaped the educational landscape of Edo State, revitalising institutions, enhancing infrastructure, improving teacher welfare, and creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning across all levels.

Dr. Omosefe further noted that under Dr. Iyamu’s stewardship, schools in Edo State have become more functional and responsive to the needs of students and pupils, thereby strengthening the foundations for a brighter future. He commended the Commissioner’s commitment to quality education, which continues to inspire confidence among parents, teachers, and stakeholders in the state.

Concluding his message, Dr. Omosefe reaffirmed the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources’ support for the State Government’s SHINE agenda under His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, and expressed optimism that Dr. Iyamu will continue to drive policies that position Edo State as a model of educational excellence in Nigeria.
