Since the commencement of the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continuous voters registration, the Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, Hon. Benjamin Iredia Osa's, has matched commitment with determination, which he has practically expressed through the massive galvanization of potential voters to register in the ongoing exercise in Uhunmwode Local Government Area.

Motivated by the desire to have Uhunmwode Local Area top the chart of highest new registrants, Hon. Iredia has left no stone unturned. From town halls engagement with the good people of Uhunmwode LGA, to high-powered meetings with Party Leaders at the Ten wards of Uhunmwode, to media Campaigns/ sensitization, and a one-on-one engagement with would-be voters on the field, Hon. Iredia has advanced His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo's 2.5 million Votes from Edo State mandate for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's reelection.

In his various speeches during several of his field engagements with voters, All Progressives party Leaders, political decampees and constituted team of canvassers, Hon. Iredia has remained unequivocal in his quest to stretch Uhunmwode voters numeric base in the INEC Voters register to new highs as her contribution to the actualization of the lofty vow made by the ebullient, workaholic and amiable Governor of Edo State.

He has said time and again in our local parlance, "that the good people of Uhunmwode NO DEY CARRY LAST", and emphasized that it would be an aberration to see us at the bottom in terms of the number of valid votes counted in any election. He added that it is time to rewrite history and place Uhunmwode in her rightful place as the flagship Local Government regarding voter participation.  

"Come out and register, get your people to transfer their voters card to Uhunmwode, make sure every eligible resident, son and daughter of Uhunmwode within your cycle of influence and area is registered to vote in the forthcoming general election. This will be our way of showing appreciation to His Excellencies, Mr President, and our practical Governor for the number of landmark projects the federal and state governments have brought to our local government. It is also our way of ensuring a continuity of this project and more, initiated", Hon. Iredia charged the party leaders and canvassers in all of his engagements.

The number of new registrations and transfers to polling units in Uhunmwode Local Government has been impressive to his credit. This is clear evidence that when you have a vibrant, working Council Chairman, loved and accepted by the people, there are no limits to what is achievable.
