UHUNMWODE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, HON. BENJAMIN OSA’S IREDIA, JOINS MUSLIM FAITHFUL TO CELEBRATE EID-EL-MAULUD, THE BIRTH OF THE HOLY PROPHET MUHAMMAD

The Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Hon. Benjamin Osa’s Iredia, has joined Muslim faithful in Uhunmwode and across Edo State to celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

In his goodwill message, Hon. Iredia extended heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, describing the celebration as an opportunity for deeper reflection on the Prophet’s noble character, teachings, and sacrifice for humanity.

He noted that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) remains a shining example of humility, patience, tolerance, compassion, and service to God and mankind, stressing that if these values are embraced by all, Nigeria and the world at large would enjoy greater peace and unity.

The Chairman also used the occasion to call on Muslim faithful and residents of Uhunmwode to promote peaceful coexistence, live in harmony with one another regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliation. Embrace tolerance and forgiveness: as taught by the Prophet, to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood in the community, support good governance, through prayers, constructive engagement, and active participation in community development.

Hon. Iredia reiterated his administration’s commitment to policies and programmes that will promote inclusiveness, religious harmony, and development across the local government. He emphasized that Uhunmwode remains a land where both Christians, Muslims, and traditional worshippers co-exist in peace, and assured that his government will continue to uphold that spirit of unity.

Furthermore, the Chairman urged Muslim faithful to use this holy season to pray for Edo State, the Executive Governor H.E. Senator Monday Okpebholo, and Nigeria at large, particularly for wisdom, stability, and prosperity.

While wishing all Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Maulud, Hon. Iredia encouraged the younger generation to see the Prophet’s life as a guiding light in their journey of faith, discipline, and service to community and nation.
