Governor Okpebholo Approves Minor Cabinet Reshuffle

In an announcement from the office of the governor of Edo State government signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq. The Edo State Government has announced a minor cabinet reshuffle approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo, aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and enhancing administrative efficiency,  

According to the announcement, Barrister Vincent Osas Uwadiae has been redeployed from the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources to serve as Commissioner for Lands and Housing. Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, who previously served as Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Governor. Meanwhile, Hon. Gani Audu, the outgoing Chief of Staff, has been nominated to take over as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

The reshuffle takes effect from January 30, 2026. The governor expressed confidence that the changes will improve coordination, policy execution, and overall governance in the state.
