Police Bust Harmony's ladies Club Woman Who Faked Her Own Kidnapping in Hotel While Having Fun With Lover

A dramatic twist has emerged in Delta State after a married woman, identified as Mrs. Oluchi, who was earlier reported abducted, was discovered by police in a hotel with her lover in what authorities now describe as a staged kidnapping plot.

The incident began after her family raised alarm that she had been kidnapped in the Ikpoba Hill area of Edo State, prompting emotional appeals for a ransom that reportedly started at N50 million and was later reduced to N20 million by the alleged kidnappers.

However, operatives of the Edo State Police Command tracked leads to a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State, where the woman was found alive and in company of a man believed to be her lover. A police source said officers traced the suspect’s phone number to the location before making the discovery.

The case took another emotional turn after Anita, the woman’s daughter based in Canada, expressed shock, saying the incident has deeply shattered the family. She insisted the family only acted in good faith and cooperated with police throughout the ordeal.

The woman who faked her kidnapping is the vice chairlady of Harmony's ladies Club in Benin. In a statement, the Harmony Ladies Club dissociated itself from the incident, describing it as a betrayal and expressing disappointment over the emotional and financial strain the situation caused its members who had mobilised support in good faith.

Confirming the development, Edo Police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem said four persons have been arrested in connection with the staged kidnapping, adding that investigations are ongoing.
