Pro-Democracy Groups Appeals to NDC NEC to Issue State House of Assembly Ticket to Franklin Nwadei

Pro-democracy Groups appeals to NDC NEC to issue state house of assembly ticket to Franklin Nwadei 

Civil Society for Accountability & Good Governance (CSAG), and Nigeria League of Professionals (NLP) has appealed to the national working committee of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to issue its state house of assembly ticket to Hon Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei.

The pro-democracy bodies described Hon Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei as best man to secure total victory for NDC in the forthcoming elections and effectively represent the people of ukwa east constituency at Abia State House of Assembly. 

The appeal by the civil society bodies was contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

The statement was jointly signed by Surveyor Samuel Aguiyi and Amb Chinedu Opurum respectively.

The group noted that its appeal comes on the heels of the overwhelming support and widespread acceptance of Hon Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei among majority of party members and the electorates during the recently-conducted house of assembly primary election held for ukwa East state constituency seat. 

“According to the non-governmental bodies, “Aside from the widespread acceptance among the electorates in Ukwa East  constituency, Hon Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei has remained committed to public service and also dedicated to the advancement of democratic values in Abia state and larger Nigeria.

The groups noted that Hon Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei has continuously demonstrated his desire to contribute to societal building and development, having chaired and coordinated professional bodies effectively and efficiently. 

The civil society bodies noted that Hon Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei has remained a defender of justice and advocate for the rights and welfare of average Nigerians.

“The confidence and widespread acceptance he enjoy among the electorates in Ukwa East state constituency  will turn into electoral victory for NDC in the coming general election come next year.

The pro-democracy groups therefore urged the national leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to consider competence and grassroots acceptance in making its final decision on the state house of assembly ticket. 

The groups pledged to deliver bulk votes to NDC to ensure the victory  and emergence of Hon Franklin Chimdiya Nwadei as lawmaker representing Ukwa East constituency at the Abia hallowed legislative chamber come next year’s elections in the state.
