New Edo Line Gets New MD, Aigbodion Ewanifo Smart Appointment Terminated

The Edo State Government has approved the appointment of Engr. Paul F. Ogedegbe as the new Managing Director of New Edo Line Ltd., following the termination of the appointment of Aigbodion Ewanifo Smart as Acting Managing Director over alleged managerial inefficiency.

The development was announced in a Government Special Announcement dated October 18, 2026, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.

According to the announcement, Governor Monday Okpebholo approved the termination of Smart’s appointment and the appointment of Ogedegbe to head the state-owned transport company.

The government stated that the decision was based on concerns over managerial inefficiency, although the announcement did not provide further details regarding the specific issues that informed the decision.
