Democracy Day; A Celebration of Unity, Progress, and Hope In Nigeria as a Nation 

The Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, Hon. Iredia Benjamin Osa's, joins millions of Nigerians in commemorating this year’s June 12" Democracy Day, a day set aside to reflect on our democratic journey, celebrate our progress, and reaffirm our commitment to good governance and nation building.

Speaking from the council headquarters, Ehor, Hon. Iredia Benjamin Osa's noted that Democracy Day is not just a public holiday, it is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by heroes past and present in the quest for freedom, equity, and accountable leadership.

 “Today, we reflect on our journey, our progress, and our collective strength,” the Chairman said. “Democracy is not just about elections, but about inclusion, development, justice, and the opportunity for every citizen to thrive.”

He emphasized the importance of unity, active citizenship, and collaboration between government and the people to ensure a sustainable future for all.

“Let us continue to work together to build a brighter future where every voice is heard, every community is empowered, and every citizen has the opportunity to prosper,” he added.

Hon. Iredia reaffirmed the council’s commitment to grassroots development, transparency, and policies that directly impact the well being of the people of Uhunmwode Local Government Area.

As the nation celebrates Democracy Day, Hon. Iredia calls on all citizens to remain hopeful, resilient, and actively engaged in the democratic process.
