The above is the distinctive edge that has set Hon. Benjamin Iredia Osa's apart as a charismatic and resolute leader who is in a hurry to birth an Uhunmwode developmental renaissance. It is against this backdrop that it is not surprising to see a Council Chairman who has been very deliberate about his actions in all facets of sustainable development and administrative governance, especially as it relates to Security, Health, Education, and Environment.

Hon. Benjamin Iredia understands that the relationship between humans and their environment is a complex and dynamic one, involving both dependence and impact. Humans rely on the environment for resources like food, water, and shelter, while also significantly altering the environment through pollution, deforestation, and climate change. This interaction is crucial for human survival and well-being, but it also presents significant challenges for environmental sustainability. 

Uhunmwode Local Government Area is not immune to the aforementioned. Presently, several communities in Uhunmwode Local Government Area are faced with severe ecological challenges negatively impacting the quality of life of residents and indigenes of the Local Government Area. As part of his proactivity, the Uhunmwode Council boss has taken up the task of championing the environmental challenges bedeviling the LGA to higher levels of government to secure lasting solutions to the problem and has implemented environmentally friendly policies that are changing the narrative across the LGA.

Knowing how good hygiene reflects on the well-being of inhabitants of a given environment, Hon. Iredia has created a structured system for continuous refuse disposal at various markets and strategic locations. He has recently paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to the fast encroaching gully erosion sites ravaging Ikhueniro Community, and true to his promise, he has escalated to the relevant authorities, including the similar cases in Ugbogun, Iguobviobo, and Iduwuniye communities.

Also, Hon. Iredia, in collaboration with local and international partners, in the strides of His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, has recently launched a tree planting campaign as part of efforts to harness the Green economy of Uhunmwode and the attendant benefits of biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, ecosystem restoration, climate and temperature control, job creation, and many more. The goal is to create a safer, cleaner, balanced, and healthier environment for all to thrive.
