GOVERNOR OKPEBHOLO’S UNDENIABLE PROGRESS IN PRACTICAL GOVERNANCE: PLACED EDO ON THE SPOTLIGHT AGAIN

In the means of electorate dissatisfaction and loppy administrative governance decadecy that has enveloped the political system of states, Edo on the spotlight of progress through the just administration of Governor Okpebholo led administration.

Governor Okpebholo administration has earned the team (Akpakomesiah) in involvement of "progress in system states", where in other words administration, is the management of any office, business, or organization, direction and function of a political states in exercising its governmental duties.The duty or duties of an administrator in exercising the executive functions of the position elected or appointed. According to the current Edo project, task, and the process that is actively being worked on is a progress in system state. While building up the public infrastructure of the Edo State, such as inter city flyover, external-internal investment, national partnership, schools, city busses transport, roads and security architecture. 

The euphoria progress, Okpebholo led administration within the period of nine(9) months is undeniable, which is focused on people centered initiatives to bring about equality to the state civil service”. This has change the narrative by giving direct employment to enhance the lives of the people and ensure they enjoy good and practical governance.

In his inaugural address, Governor Monday Okpebholo had said the mandate to preside over the State will be judiciously utilized and not betray the confidence reposed in him by Edo people (post election). Okpebholo said his administration will implement programmes and carefully outlined a five-point agenda designed to grow a robust economy and improve the lives of the people.

 His administration has given youths of the state all the necessary tools and created an enabling environment for them to thrive in their various fields of endeavour the governor disclosed this at the 2025 Edo Youth Impact Forum with the theme: “Empowered youths transformed future”,  The governor approved an interest free loan for Edo people, including the youths, and this move is part of empowering Edo people to create wealth and improve the socio-economic environment of the State. 

Governor Okpebholo, within a while has approved the sum of ₦1 billion as bursary support for students of Edo State origin in tertiary institutions across the country. listed several boards as part of its governance structure. One prominent example is the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), which was established in 2004. Additionally, the state government has recently passed laws establishing the Edo State Rural Access Roads Agency (RARA) and the Edo State Roads Fund Board (EDSRFB). These boards and agencies play various roles in managing education and state  infrastructure.

Federal-state collaborating to reconstruct the, Benin-Auchi, Benin-Sapele and  Benin-Asaba Expressway, a major federal highways, with the project being handled by the Benin-Auchi-Okene Expressway Construction Company (BAECC) and Others. The reconstruction of this 125-kilometer dual carriageway

These various collaboration forster a partnership between the Federal Government and the Edo State Government to improve vital infrastructure, which has been on a deadlock in previous years.

In the aforementioned, among others, the progress through which the just administration of Governor Okpebholo, has accomplished in a short while remain undeniable, a top priorities for Edo State infrastructure development.
