Hon. Benjamin Iredia Osa's Commends The Edo State Government Over The Recent People-Oriented Educational Reform Policies

...Applauds the introduction of the compulsory skills acquisition for all secondary school students beginning with JSS 3.

In the wake of the recent educational reform policies by the Edo State Government under the able Leadership of His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo and spearheaded by the State Education Ministry, the Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, Hon. Benjamin Iredia Osa's has applauded the Listening Governor and the pragmatic Commissioner of Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu over what he described as a proactive steps at improving the standard and quality of education in Edo State and also reduce the financial burden, educating their wards places on parents, and guardians.

Notably, the youthful chairman commended the decisive abolition of the hitherto exploitative and unnecessary graduation ceremonies for pre-nursery, nursery, and basic exit classes. Also, he hailed the introduction of skill acquisition for all secondary school students beginning at the junior high level, which will now form part of the Certifications for JSS 3 examination. Hon. Iredia asserted that the introduction of vocations into the school curricula is not only very apt, but timely as education without vocational/entrepreneurship training, in this fast-changing world is incomplete 

He further added that Gov. Okpebholo has shown that he truly feels the pulse of the people, as preparing for these heedless graduations and displays of vain ostentatious ceremonies has been a source of huge financial burden on parents.

Speaking to the Press, Hon. Iredia said that as an administrator in a government closest to the people, these policies coupled with the new "text book reuse policy" is not only a step in the right direction but meets the yearnings of the average Edo parent who he could attest, have been overwhelmed by the burden of buying new books every academic session. He noted that, by Gov. Okpebholo's approval of this popular demand, he has indeed demonstrated that he is a listening Governor. By relieving parents of this avoidable stress and strain, he has practically shown that he places a massive premium on the welfare of the people he governs, Iredia remarked..

As a local government, Hon. Iredia pledged to monitor the full implementation of these new reforms towards ensuring total compliance. He reaffirmed the Uhunmwode Council's commitment to aligning with the broader vision for education under the SHINE Agenda of His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo.

This is progressivism, and a pathway to an educational system that is reformed, repositioned, and refined to meet the demands of the 21st century, and Gov. Okpebholo is truly walking the talk through his SHINE Agenda.
