ACTING PROVOST AND MANAGEMENT TEAM OF THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES PAYS INTRODUCTORY AND FAMILIARIZATION VISITS TO LEADERS OF THE COLLEGE'S HOST COMMUNITIES AND THE DPO, IGUOBAZUWA POLICE COMMAND.

In a statement signed by Mr. Ukato Thomas, the information/ public relations officer, Provost office, Edo State college of Agriculture and natural resources. The Acting Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Andrew Osaigbovo Omosefe flanked by his principal officers and management team on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025 paid an introductory and familiarization visit to the Odionweres, Elders, leaders, and executives of the College's host communities and also the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Iguobazuwa Police Command.

In Iguoriakhi Community, the reception was warm and rousing as the Odionwere, Elders, and executives of the Community received the College's delegation with open hands. The story was the same at Iguoriakhi Hill Top, and Aimieromwan communities, all in Ovia South West Local Government Area, of Edo State.

In his remarks in the communities visited, the Acting Provost said that upon his appointment as Acting Provost of the College by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, he felt the need to visit Leaders and Elders of the college host communities to introduce himself and familiarize with them with a view to engendering a smooth and cordial working relationship. He stated that he is not unaware that for him to succeed in repositioning the college, restoring its lost glory, and taking it to the next level of excellence demands and requires the absolute cooperation, support, and prayers of the host communities.

The Leaders and Elders of the Host Communities, who were elated and pleased with Dr. Omosefe's humility, respect, sonorous rendition of traditional songs, and eloquence, offered profuse prayers and supplications to God Almighty and their revered ancestors for the success of the Provost's tenure, his family, and for the upliftment and progress of their communities. While assuring the Acting Provost and his delegation of their avowed support, they, however, acquainted the College's delegation with some pressing challenges they face.

The Acting Provost and team rounded up the familiarization tour with a visit to the office of the Iguobazuwa Divisional Police Officer (DPO) where he sued for improved partnership for enhance security and policing of the college and host communities through the possible establishment of a Police Post within the college premises.
