INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE TO HIS EXCELLENCY, SEN. MOND

AY OKPEBHOLO, GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE

Your Excellency,

Today marks a historic milestone in our nation’s journey, the day we attained self-determination and the dignity of nationhood.

The path has not always been smooth. It has been a journey defined by trials, challenges, and sacrifices. Yet, through it all, our unity in diversity has remained our greatest strength. With the advent of democracy, our nation and our dear Edo State emerged from the shadows of military rule into a system where the will of the people is paramount. Still, democracy has found its true expression and definition under your purposeful leadership as Governor of Edo State.

In less than a year of your administration, you have transformed Edo into a vast construction hub, with people-centered infrastructural projects springing up across the state. These landmark achievements have honored the vision of our founding fathers and also, given practical meaning to their aspirations. Your SHINE Agenda is a bold and strategic blueprint, repositioning our state for improved governance, productivity, and prosperity.

At the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Iguoriakhi, we remain resolute in our commitment to complement your vision. Through research, learning, and the deployment of expertise, we will continue to harness the agricultural potential of Edo State, ensuring sustainable growth and development for our people.

As we celebrate the 65th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, it is my earnest prayer that the dreams of our forebears will continue to find fulfillment. May Almighty God grant our nation peace, unity, and progress as we collectively strive to actualize the Nigerian dream. May the Almighty continue to strengthen you to deliver on your mandate as a new Edo rises under your leadership.

With best wishes and warm regards,

Signed,

Dr. Andrew Osaigbovo Omosefe.

Acting Provost,

College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Iguoriakhi
