Edo State Government Commends Hon. Austin Imafidon for Remarkable Strides in Infrastructure and Human Development

In a press statement signed by Ogiehor Ehis Tornado, Chief Press Secretary Uhunmwode LGA. The Governor of Edo State has lauded the Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Council, Hon. Austin Imafidon, for his exceptional commitment to infrastructure renewal and human development within the local government area.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, the Honourable Commissioner for Water resources and Sanitation  Hon. Washington Osa Osifo, PhD, expressed deep satisfaction after inspecting the ongoing overhaul and renovation of the council secretariat building, including upgraded furniture, fittings, and rehabilitation of the soakaway system.

Hon. Dr. Osifo praised the Chairman for aligning closely with the Governor’s SHINE Agenda and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, describing Hon. Imafidon’s performance as a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership. He thanked the Chairman for “making the Governor proud” through impactful and visible development projects.

Reflecting on his over 27 years of familiarity with Uhunmwode Local Government, including his tenure as Secretary to the Council, the Commissioner noted that Uhunmwode, alphabetically ranked 18th among LGAs in Edo State, had also consistently ranked 18th in terms of infrastructure and human development. However, he acknowledged that this narrative has already begun to change within just two months of Hon. Imafidon’s assumption of office.

In his words, “This is real project, not audio project. I already know how this place will look when it is completed. You don’t disturb a winning team.”

He further affirmed his full support for the Chairman, adding, “You have my support for the next six years.”

The Commissioner commended Hon. Imafidon as a young and dynamic leader whose vision is transforming Uhunmwode LGA at an unprecedented pace. He emphasized that leadership effectiveness is not determined by age or size, but by clarity of vision, mission, and the ability to deliver tangible results.

The Edo State Government reiterates its commitment to supporting performing leaders across the state and ensuring that developmental progress remains consistent with the Governor’s strategic objectives.
