2026 Budget of Liberation: A New Dawn for Uhunmwode LGA presented to the hallowed Chamber of ULGA

The Uhunmwode Local Government Council has formally presented its 2026 Fiscal Year Financial Estimate, themed “Budget of Liberation: A New Dawn for Uhunmwode LGA,” in a well-attended gathering of party leaders, government officials, and key stakeholders.
The event was graced by prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by the Uhunmwode APC Leader, Prof. Dr. David Osifo. The Executive Chairman of Uhunmwode Local Government Area, Hon. Austin Imafidon (popularly known as ISIWINA), presented the budget to the legislative chamber, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sustainable development and economic transformation.
Among the dignitaries present were the LGA Party Chairman, Hon. Osawe Osayemwere; the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Dr. Charles Okpere, PhD; Barr. Washington Osa Osifo, PhD; the Secretary to the Local Government, Comrade Oziegbe Ighodaro; all Supervisory Councillors; Heads of Departments; revered traditional rulers; and members of the business community.
In his presentation, Hon. Imafidon disclosed that the total budget estimate for the 2026 fiscal year stands at ₦9,516,675,020.50. The breakdown shows a proposed recurrent expenditure of ₦5,004,253,203.01 and a proposed capital expenditure of ₦4,512,421,817.49, reflecting a balanced approach between administrative sustainability and infrastructural development.
The Chairman emphasized that the 2026 budget is strategically designed to usher in a new era of growth, prosperity, and inclusive development across all communities in Uhunmwode LGA.
As part of his transformative agenda, Hon. Imafidon announced plans to establish the first-ever Uhunmwode Local Government Integrated Investment Board, an independent body mandated to attract, manage, and drive investments into the local government without undue political interference.
This initiative, he noted, will serve as a catalyst for economic expansion, job creation, and improved revenue generation.
The Council Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-oriented governance, while calling on all stakeholders to support the successful implementation of the 2026 budget.
The presentation marks a significant milestone in the administration’s drive to reposition Uhunmwode Local Government Area for sustainable development and a brighter future for its citizens.
