In a Press Statement from IPOB signed by Comrade Emma Powerful, the Spokesperson/Media and Publicity Secretary for the Indigenous People of BIAFRA (IPOB). Dated 13th Apri, 2026. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the indomitable leadership of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has reviewed the so-called “terrorism sponsors list” recently published by the Nigerian government. We state categorically and without apology: this list is a disgraceful farce — a laughable, desperate, and intellectually bankrupt exercise designed to mask the truth and deceive the uninformed.

Let the world take notice.

A state that has a documented history of unleashing violence on unarmed civilians now seeks to wear the cloak of moral authority. A system that has repeatedly turned its guns on peaceful citizens—men, women, and even children—now presumes to define terrorism. This is not just hypocrisy; it is a grotesque insult to truth, justice, and human conscience.

If history must be invoked, let it be invoked fully:

If millions of children could be starved and killed to suppress the emergence of Biafra;

If peaceful assemblies, prayers, and protests could be met with bullets and bloodshed across the South-East;

If state machinery could be deployed, again and again, against defenseless civilians whose only “crime” is self-determination;

If a global network of state and political actors could collaborate in the extraordinary rendition, torture, and continued detention of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu—

Then what exactly is this so-called “terrorism list” supposed to achieve?

Intimidation? It has failed.

Blackmail? It has failed.

Propaganda? It has failed.

We state unequivocally: the greatest threat to peace and human dignity in Nigeria has never been a peaceful movement like IPOB. The real tragedy lies in a system where those who wield state power deploy it without restraint against their own citizens, and then attempt to rewrite the narrative by labeling their victims as perpetrators.

This latest publication is not about security. It is about fear — fear of a people who refuse to be broken, silenced, or erased.

It is particularly absurd that IPOB is being demonized before international audiences in countries where our movement is lawfully recognized and operates within the bounds of the law. This contradiction exposes the entire exercise for what it is: a crude attempt at international misinformation that collapses under the weight of its own falsehood.

Let it be known:

- No Igbo son or daughter is a sponsor of terrorism.

- IPOB is not a terrorist organization.

- IPOB is a people-driven movement anchored on the inalienable right to self-determination.

Those who truly nurture, enable, and weaponize violence know themselves. They cannot hide behind fabricated lists or state propaganda forever. History is patient, and truth is stubborn.

To those who believe that such tactics will force capitulation, you fundamentally misunderstand the spirit of the Biafran people. A people who have endured the worst forms of suffering cannot be intimidated by labels. A people whose resolve has been forged in adversity do not surrender because of political theatre.

The message is simple and unambiguous:

Demonization will not stop the agitation.

Propaganda will not erase reality.

Falsehood will not defeat truth.

The struggle for justice, dignity, and self-determination is not a crime — it is a right.

And that right remains non-negotiable.
