Commissioner for Education Visits Schools in Edo Central to Monitor Resumption Compliances

ommissioner for Education, Dr. Washington Osa Osifo, has embarked on an inspection tour of schools across Edo Central Senatorial District to monitor compliance with the state government’s directives on the resumption of academic activities for the new school term.
During the monitoring exercise, the Commissioner visited selected public schools to assess the level of preparedness of school authorities, teachers and students following resumption.
The inspection focused on key areas including teachers’ attendance, students’ resumption, classroom activities, school environment, teaching and learning facilities, as well as adherence to the directives of the Edo State Government on effective school administration.
Dr. Osifo interacted with school administrators and teachers, urging them to remain committed to their responsibilities and ensure that teaching and learning commence effectively without unnecessary delays.
He also emphasized the importance of punctuality, discipline and a conducive learning environment, stressing that the success of the education sector depends on the collective commitment of government officials, teachers, parents and other stakeholders.
The Commissioner further encouraged school heads to maintain accurate records of attendance and promptly communicate challenges affecting the smooth operation of their schools to the appropriate authorities.
The monitoring exercise, according to the Ministry of Education, is part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen supervision, promote accountability and ensure that pupils and students receive quality education throughout the academic session.
The visit to schools in Edo Central underscores the administration’s continued focus on ensuring full resumption compliance and improved standards across public schools in Edo State.
