Rt. Hon. Moses Igbinomwanhia Igbinoba has emerged as the Legislative Leader of the Uhunmwode Local Government Area Legislative Council, shortly after the swearing-in of newly elected councillors into office.

3. Rt. Hon. Barr. Osarobo Ogbegie ( Ward 02) - Majority Leader, 

4. Rt. Hon. Friday Ose Agbonzee ( Ward 07) - Chief Whip,

5. Hon .Osabuehien Alias IBO (Ward 01) - Deputy Majority Leader, 

6. Hon. Felix Okoro ( Ward 10) - Deputy Chief Whip.

The development took place immediately after the legislators took their oath of office, marking the formal commencement of legislative activities in the council.

Rt. Hon. Moses Igbinomwanhia Igbinoba, who represents Isi South Ward 8, secured the confidence of his fellow legislators to lead the legislative arm of the council.

His emergence is expected to provide direction and coordination for the activities of the Legislative Council as it begins its mandate to represent the interests of the people at the grassroots.

The swearing-in ceremony, which brought together the newly elected councillors, local government officials, political leaders, stakeholders and supporters, was described as a significant milestone in the democratic process of Uhunmwode Local Government Area.

Following his emergence, Rt. Hon. Igbinoba expressed appreciation to his colleagues for the confidence they had reposed in him, promising to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership.

He said the position was not merely an honour but a responsibility that required commitment, unity and dedication to the welfare of the people of Uhunmwode

The Legislative Leader further called for cooperation among members of the council, stressing that the success of the Legislative Council would depend largely on their ability to work together in the interest of the people.

He pledged that the legislative arm would support initiatives capable of promoting development, accountability and improved living conditions across the local government.

The emergence of Hon. Igbinoba comes under the administration of the Uhunmwode Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Austin Imafidon, whose administration is expected to work with the newly constituted Legislative Council to advance grassroots governance.

The Legislative Council is expected to exercise its legislative and oversight responsibilities while collaborating with the executive arm of the local government on programmes and policies aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, youth empowerment and other areas of community development.

The Political leader of the local government, Prof. David Osifo who witnessed the proceedings congratulated Hon. Moses Igbinoba Igbinomwanhia on his emergence, urging him to use his new position to promote unity, transparency and effective representation.

With the swearing-in completed and the leadership of the Legislative Council now constituted, attention is expected to shift to the discharge of legislative duties and the delivery of democratic dividends to residents across the various wards and communities in Uhunmwode.
